END OF DAZE is a Metal band that hails from the United Kingdom. END OF DAZE is a band of young guys who use their passion to combine elements from different genres of Metal to create their work. Using inspiration from IRON MAIDEN's guitars, to the evolving sounds of SLIPKNOT and PARKWAY DRIVE, the band has created their first full-length album "Ascension". After many line up changes, steady classmates created the current line up and in September of 2015, the guys were able to release "Ascension". The album comes in with nine tracks and just over 32 minutes of listening time.

My first impression: damn good. The "Intro" was pretty neat, but the transition between "Intro" and "Waiting" was just dead space. There was nothing there, making it sound chunky. However, getting into the meat of "Waiting", the writing is cohesive and just plan good. The guitars really shine in this track, but I'm guessing that will be the statement throughout the albums entirety.

Track three, "My Awakening" is my favorite track on the album. The music is brilliant, but the really great thing was the male and female vocal combination. Harry Shooter's vocals are gloriously done mixing between screams and growls, while Wynter Prior's growls are so deep and gritty along with the celestial female vocals make this track stand out and allows the listeners to hear and feel the creativity and different elements these guys can bring to their album.

Other beautifully done tracks are "The Skies Above" and "Whispers" - both are musically brilliant and vocally superb. END OF DAZE can create a top-notch level Metalcore sound with what seems to be ease; these two, if any tracks show their skills these will.

I have found a new favorite Metalcore to listen to and if you like the sounds of PARKWAY DRIVE, you too, will find a new love for END OF DAZE. Spectacular musicians that are creative and can keep it flowing. I am really excited to see where these guys go next. I hope it's many more years of making albums just like "Ascension".
