For the last 15 years I've been into the Metal world, getting obsessed, depressed, growing intellectually (somehow), and still bands like this remind me why I started to listen to this, this kind of aggressiveness, of more feeling that technic, has always managed to captivate a guy like me, who only have dreamed with the notes that I've been hearing those years.
EMPTINESS, a band making a name for itself for some time in Europe, has released this short, but true form of passion mixed with growls and Black / Death Metal rhythms, letting apart the "melody" that has been invading the scene, have instead used the dark, heavy and drone riffs, that only make a war in your buffer, drums that have really a lot of talent, making tempo changes without further notice, but still fit very well, bass lines making impact in the entire record, becoming the most important instrument in this release. Riffs, whether they're catchy or not, carry the feeling of the songs, and the entire true raw energy contained on the album, the vocals, wow, for bands of Death or Black, I have always let aside the voice, because it has become generic, but this time, the changes between growls and harsh moments, is something that neither me or you would let it pass.
Another thing that I liked a lot: the song titles, come on, they have done something rare and amazing here, letting Satan, guts, dark forest and stuff like that aside, taking options with something more realistic, something like it (you, my dear reader) and I. This album is definitely not an error, it's something not beautiful, not new, not something that you've never heard before, but truly it's something made with passion, talent, guts, and most important: Pure Fucking Metal.
