Emmure - Felony album cover

Characterizing a band like the heaviest band in the world isn't really gonna save the day if the band can't save it for itself! And what exactly do you mean by heaviest? Anyway, EMMURE is one more band that comes from Victory Records, which is probably one of the most brutal bands the label has.

The band tries to somehow mix Deathcore (?!) with a more brutal version of Nu Metal and whatever came to their mind while creating this album. Felony is a really weak release with no apparent personality. It shows a band that roams through different soundscapes to gather pieces that will fill their music puzzle. The fact is that this sound mess is something that really tired me while listening to it. You see, I just can't get used to listen to a weird brutal Nu Metal with beatdown parts, Metalcore riffing...

Even the vocals are trying to follow the changes and instead of listening to the album you are trying to follow the band in order not to be lost! I don't know, the music is kind of Whatevercore and I strongly believe that metalheads have better buying options out there. Not to mention the stupid song titles...
