El Caco - Viva album cover

OK, fellow Templars, I know that I get on your nerves, but do you hate me that much, so as to give me this CD for review? What is this music style called? Stoner Rock? (Stoned Rock would be more appropriate ) Frankly, I don't see any difference between Stoner Rock, Alternative, Grunge and Industrial and I don't see any point to their existence... but enough with my nasty joking/bitching.

El Caco (The Thief) is a trio from Norway, but they have an American sound. 'Viva' is their debut album and they seem to have a personal style although they bring to mind bands like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains. The production is clear enough and heavy. The highlights of the album are the songs: Suffer (maybe because it was representing what I was going through while listening to this album ), Oh Yeah! (cause it has attitude) and I Spill The Water.

If you think that 5 is a low rating for this album, just take into consideration that I'm not into this kind of music and I see no connection of them to metal. However, the fact that they are doing exactly what they want and they do it properly, made me be kinda flexible with my rating (Yes, my first ratting was lower than 5!). If you are into stoner, I guess it's worth checking them, if not stay away from it.
