"Profound Death" the first out of the nine tracks from the "Asphyxiating Devotion" album by EKPYROSIS; and it starts off as a tornado, a crumbling and destructive force of brutal and loud drums, massively heavy guitar riffs, brutal and deep growling vocals, a lot of fast but still slow moments and basically a mix of utter and gutter destruction all put into one old-school sounding Death Metal band.

I am seriously blown away how massive and malevolent this band sounds. Although this is their debut full-length album, they have released two demos and an EP throughout their years of activity, which would be from 2013 to present day. What shocks me mostly negatively is the fact that EKPYROSIS is only one of those massively talented bands that sound original but still remind you of bands you adore from this genre. Sadly this is only one of the million bands that really need some help around their music promotion, and I'm glad to help, even if it means that I'll have to force the words out of myself, ha-ha. Seriously though, don't call yourself a real fan of this brutal genre if you haven't heard this earth-shocking, groundbreaking, and thunder-creating band.

I'm starting to make up words in order to precisely describe how this band sounds, but I'm close. What impresses me is the fact that the band has a lot of long songs, and none of them are boring in any way; all of them are original, the riffs are various, shifting from fast to slow and everything is so dark and heavy."Obsessive Christendom" demonstrates that even if you were truly surprised by the intro song, it still means that you haven't heard even ten percent of what the band has prepared on their debut full-length material.

There are more screechy guitars, more nasty screams and extremely deep growls, and a lot more furious blast-beat drumming to come; so perfect! If you're a fan of sped up Death Metal that is both fast but still slow and reminds you a lot of the old days and yet displays some modern touches, then definitely give these Italian guys a listen!
