Edward Box - Motion Control album cover

Hailing from Newcastle, Edward Box is one of the most traditionalist guitar hero to have come out of England since ages, think EVH or RR, but with this release, he express a strong polyvalence in the spectrum of sounds, yet "Motion Control" contains some of the highest caliber licks displayed from straight ahead rockers format to softened mid tempo tunes or ballads.

In addition, he is also the vocalist and the mastermind behind the True Metal band VENDETTA that released a fine triptych, also on Lion Music's "Tyranny Of Minority" / "Heretic Nation" / "World Under Fire" with a lot of critical acclaim, he is renowned for being not only a great technician but also a true composer that place the writing talent way above any other skills.

In life, you often do not have a second chance, however Lion Music and Edward Box offered to you something very near of this concept, indeed this digital-only-release, is the best way to witness once and for all the box's amazing talent, it's like an anthology of previous  Edward's instrumental solo albums respectively titled "Plectrumhead" in 2002 and the 2005's "Moonfudge" both carefully melted together , to finally have a brand new 2013, freshly revamped version with something like twenty-one red hot tracks.

But this is not exactly a compilation, because Edward with the help of an always increasing technology's power had taken time to going back to the masters and making a few improvements, both sonically but also in terms of performance, this was made only where he felt necessary. These modifications are ranging from, an obvious crisper production, a richer overall sound, with more density, to new details such revitalized rhythm guitars layers on a number of cuts, to new harmonization, even up to some brand new lead solo break on others.

If once you failed to enjoy his superb six strings works, please don't make the same error twice, as he really deserve to be discovered and admired, and not only because he plays perfectly but also because Edward Box reveal an unique personality in his music and because he has something to say with his burning axe.
