Earth Crisis - To The Death album cover

It has been some time since I reviewed a pure Hardcore release, and the first I get after so long is the brand new album of EARTH CRISIS. Could I ask for anything more? This is a band I have been listening for many years since I was just a child and I was impatient to see what they could come up with this time. Although I never had any doubts about these guys!

The New York vegan straight edge Hardcore force EARTH CRISIS has been kicking ass since 1991, or to be more precise WAS, since they broke up in 2001 just to return in 2007 to prepare their new assault To The Death. I grew up listening to this band and albums like Destroy The Machines and The Oath That Keeps Me Free are definitely classic in the Hardcore scene. Signing with Century Media, EARTH CRISIS are determined to deliver some uncompromising music once again. Welcome back mates!

Some of the distinctive elements that made EARTH CRISIS what they are considered to be today were Buechner's unique vocals, as well as their Metal attitude. These elements are still audible, since To The Death is surrounded by heavy as fuck down tuned guitars and a bestial singer that hasn't lost even a little of his energy! The band has incorporated some more modern Core ingredients, something positive if you ask me. The band doesn't forget its musical past, too, since the EARTH CRISIS stench is all around. The lyrics are all about the straight edge ethics, society etc, classic themes that these NYHC guys use to talk about and the pissed of voice of Mr. Buechner helps a lot carry this message through.

All in all, EARTH CRISIS make a more than kickass comeback with a strong and solid Hardcore album and as it seems, endless energy! Do not search for standout tracks, every single one slays!
