Reign Supreme
Dying Fetus

"Reign Supreme" is the seventh spawn of DYING FETUS, a band who with every release is determined to take no prisoners in the quest for domination of the Death Metal world. From the moment you press "play", you will be mercilessly injected with raw brutality laced with heavy-laden grooves and adrenaline-pumping beats that will drag your soul into the deepest abyss of heavy fucking Metal. And the band has that intention from the very second the first note hits your eardrums.
The first track "Invert the Idol" assaults the listener head-on with most insane opening that you cannot possibly prepare yourself for. Within the first minute, you are consensually invaded by all the trademarks that have made DYING FETUS an infamous name: the bellowing grooves of bassist Sean Beasley, the stabbing blast beats of drummer Trey Williams, and the squealing guitars and bellowing vocals of John Gallagher. The development of well-structured grooves in tracks such as "Subjected To a Beating" and "In the Trenches" will defy any misconception that claims Death Metal as simple noise clutter. Fans of SUFFOCATION will enjoy the melodic grooves of "Revisionist Past", a track in which I became convinced that John Gallagher could easily be named the Eddie Van Halen of the Death Metal underworld.
So if you are looking to hear a high caliber of Metal musicianship reaped from the lowest parts of hell, "Reign Supreme" might just be what you need. With the praise that this album will surely gather from its most loyal subjects, it appears that DYING FETUS will not be abdicating its throne any time soon.
