Dunmharu - Finding The Eternal album cover

Hailing from Ireland DUNMHARU are a Black Metal band with aspects of everything from the old school to a new wave of ideas creating the very record "Finding The Eternal", if you are a fan of old school heavy and dark Black Metal then this is certainly the record for you.

"They Haunt Us"
Though this song s more of an intro track it does have something which stands out, it has this very solid sound that seems eerie at first but becomes something a bit more as it goes on, it feels like the intro track is making its own statement, like a prelude of what is to come, but that is what I feel to be a great message in it's own right.

The Beast Lives in Us All"
The start of this track is incredible to say the least, it has fury and it has force to the best levels, I feel that with this track it shows us just what this record has in store for us as it holds for us all the elements of a band that can truly express their rage and technique in the best ways possible. We see some solid playing as well as guitars that speak to the best of their capability, I enjoy what is being played and feel that the creativity on this track is boundless.

"Unforgiving in Death"
The start to this is viciously heavy; from this we can expect great things just off the back of this intro, and that ladies and gents is exactly what we have. I feel that the structure to this track is meant to be skull crushingly brutal in it's own way, though there are more things that we can find just from this such as the musicianship being shown. I also feel that with the creation of this track that we get to see the anger being displayed at it's best through the electrical current of the band. I have to say that it really is a track to loose your shit to and relax to as well as with this I feel that any fan who gives this a chance will mentally loose their rage through this.

"Here Skies Darken"
For the next track we start with a slow intro which leads into the bands already incredible speed and thunderous beats which for this record so far are some of the key points I can say the band have been able to master. I feel that this track has a very even flow when it comes to the balance between the drums and bass as well as the riffs that we see being played, it's all a whole synchronised engine building faster and harder with every chorus which is something you don't see in a lot of new bands to be honest and I really enjoy the change.

"The Savage Path of Time"
The start of this track opens with a slow doom march to accompany the tone of the drums and bass with ease, It is different compared to the rest of the record as it is a slow and very soul crushing track. I feel that it works with the sound that the band have already shown us and I feel that with this really heavy tone that this would certainly show us as well tat the band have multiple ideas to show us and what they are capable of as a unit. It is always fun to see the different shades to a band and that is certainly what we have here with this second to last track on this already brilliant record.

"Finding the Eternal"
As we come to the end of this record we see the band take back to their fast and darkened sound with ease and aggression at it's fullest, with this track being the records title track we see the guys bring it hard with traditional tones and ideas coming together with new age ideas in a grand combination of chaotic riffs and blasts to which work as a whole. I feel that with it being the title track the band may have thought it best to give a perfect representation into what the record is as a whole, and that is certainly what we have, a perfect picture into the record as a whole and what makes it what it is at the end.

To conclude I feel that this record shows us that the band have multiple shades of sound to show and create, with this record we see the band take this sound to a whole new level to which shows us that the band have a sound that is both familiar and distinct.
