Deryck Heignum (Vocals and Guitar) founded the band with Stan Martell, a bass master and studio engineer and the expert drummer Austin Lane. In 2015, they recorder "A Dark Formation". In 2017, they came back under the name DUNGEON WOLF, to record a more melodic and much more traditional album entitled "Slavery of Steel". The eight tracks are a mix of  different Metal styles, from Progressive, to Epic, with Technical and Power/Speed tones. It is a multi-faceted debut album. According to their different inspirations and experiences, the band delivers a nice album of Epic Heavy Metal, that offers a wide range of styles, melted with their own Epic Heavy Metal roots. Like different ingredients of a recipe, with their own qualities and smells or tastes but melting smoothly and sweetly with the other components. Starting by 70's - 80's influences , we have "Hidden Dreams" that opens the album with a nice electric guitar opening,, introducing us to an epic word, through the story telling and the melody.

 "Worker Metal Might" that opens with a spoken intro and remembering of some Ozzy Osbourne's songs but less oppressive or more joyful, to offer us a nice moment of good Heavy Metal, as "Last Alive" that shows the savoir-faire of the band. "Slavery or Steel", the song that gives its name to the  album, opens with an electric and furious solo, with a great chorus, showing us why this song gives its name to the album, and the change of tune offers a different view on what the band can create in the same song, like  "While Gods Laugh" which shares the same epic mood, and is unique t as it sounds like a SEPTICFLESH song, but not so dark. We also have a cooler mood with "Borderlands" which is a ballad, more peaceful than the other songs but not sad, with a powerful guitar solo and angelic voices. And darker pieces, like "Dark Child", a Melodic Metal song opening with darker intro and voice, and "Lord of Endless Night" with a louder voice, a nice melody, So, to resume, this album is a good Epic Heavy Metal album, offering a wide range of tones, like a painting with different shades but still showing an harmony within it.  A nice record to listen to if you want to discover new sounds, or a new way to play Epic Heavy Metal.
