I can still remember the very good impressions from DREAM EVIL's Book Of Heavy Of Heavy Metal that was the band's third full length album. The band managed to become popular due to the first lineup that had Fredrik Nordstrom and Gus G. in the guitars and Snowy Shaw behind the drum kit. Of course, the catchy Power Metal based music and the sometimes humorous lyrics helped them to build quite a strong fan base.
DREAM EVIL decided to released a really hearty DVD that really sums up their career so far. The main subject of the DVD is the live recorded show in the band's hometown at -as it seems- a small club. Indeed, the film direction is based on close-ups in the musicians and some footage from the fans in the first lines. The light show stays at the basics enhancing this intimate feeling during the entire footage that is focused on the music and the band's undisputed energy on-stage. The setlist covers DREAM EVIL's discography comprising all their hits and 'arena' sing-along tracks. The sound of the 'live' recording is too good to be true. I mean, everything sounds perfect and in place and based on my experience in concerts this is not the case especially in small club shows. Well, this is definitely a matter of taste whether you like to here the raw recording with all the possible mistakes or have an almost flawless DVD recording.
The DVD menus are very well designed with nice graphics and are easy to use without having to wait too long to be activated. The rest of the DVD features an joyful interview that gives details on DREAM EVIL story through the band's looking glass filled with humor.
The special edition of the DVD is definitely best value for money; apart from the DVD it contains the CD with just the audio of the concert plus a second CD with one new track, Dominator (classic up tempo guitar based DREAM EVIL tune), some bonus ones from the band's releases and some previously unreleased songs in a total time duration of 64 minutes.  
So, this is the perfect gift for all the DREAM EVIL fans that want to complete their collection with a very good package full of interest material beside the live recorded concert.
