Falling Down
Dragonfly

To quote the band's biography, Due to different musical interests, the band developed a characteristic and refreshing style... well, what I heard is a mixture of Iron Maiden and Gothic / Atmospheric Metal, but mostly Maiden. So forget about the refreshing side of their music...
Dutch act Dragonfly formed in 2000 and so far they have released two Demo CDs (Another Fear in 2002 and Falling Down in 2005 as a four track promo CD at first). This full length release includes songs from those two Demo CDs. The worst thing about Dragonfly's music are the mediocre vocals of female singer Klarine Buist - without being bad, I almost fell asleep with her inability to sing in different tones. Damn! And like that was not enough already, some evil male vocals pop up every now and then and trust me, you don't want to know my opinion on this.
Apart from the vocal lines, the music is not that bad, is it? Of course there's no chance in hell they can be called refreshing or something like that. I have heard all this before and frankly I found it very hard to keep up listening to this one. The band mentions they think of recording new material in 2006. Let's see...
