Radioactive Intervention
Dr. Living Dead

The Doctors of twisted Metal psychology and "Radioactive Intervention" are back again to feed the cycle and create more suffering as they espouse the meaning of life: "Life Sucks, So Live, Suffer, Mosh Or Die!". Fans of other Punk influenced Thrashcore outfits with a sense of humor like GAMA BOMB, H.O.D., S.O.D., M.O.D., MUNICIPAL WASTE, CRUMBSUCKERS, LUDICHRIST, etc. will want to jump into the fire pit of this metal warzone. Come now Disciples Of The Mosh, it is time for the Wardance!
Vocalist Andreas "Dr. Ape" Sandberg seems to have a more scratchy and belligerent vocal presence on this their sophomore for High Roller Records. Overall, he has abandoned that Tom Araya timeless, vintage scream, which he employed on the debut, now and then. However, he continues to clearly mimic Mike Muir of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, and he maintains that "Cyco Miko" presence on several songs like: "Signs From The Other Side", "The Meaning Of Life", "Mental Warzone", and "Suffering". In fact, "Hiding Inside Of Me" may be there attempt at "How Do I Laugh Tomorrow,...". Also, he tends to emulate and emphasize the hint of a howl similar to John Connelly. Clearly NUCLEAR ASSAULT are an influence as evidenced by the songs "Timeless" or "You're Lost".
One characteristic of their debut was that they wrote a bunch of short, fast cuts dedicated to all those great '80s action and horror movie heroes. Like AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE, they paid homage to Arnold, and similar to their fellow countrymen F.K.U., they honored Freddy and Chucky. Now, most of the songs tend to be more personal, subjective, and reflective, and not as tongue-in-cheek. Every now and then they still have some killer clownish cuts like "Life Sucks" or "They Live" - dedicated to the classic cult John Carpenter flick.
Overall, I feel that this may be a step back from the debut, at least lyrically, and perhaps even production-wise. This is still fun, fast, Thrash, and worth a listen, but overall when I come to realize just how much life sucks, I would rather hear the bands who invented this style, than those who follow its trend.
