And here it is, after many Metalcore, gay Metal and shitty melodic releases I have reviewed lately, I am ready to accept an underground brutal challenge. You probably have already understood that we have to do with a split CD here and I believe it is not so hard to guess what these two bands play.
DR DOOM: After a pretty tiring intro, since it keeps going for 2:38 minutes, the Dutch (Groningen)Death Metal/Grindcore band unleashes its own brutal assault with a nice mixture of Grindcore, Death Metal and some slight Black Metal touches. The rhythm section is precise like a Swiss clock and the guitar is breaking your neck with hyper fast shredding. Of course this is not something you haven't heard before, but DR DOOM is surely a band that will make all you sickos have a hell of a nice time with these 5 songs. Let me add that this is their second official release after their 2007 self titled debut EP.
COLLISION: To tell you the truth, it seemed kind of weird that these guys had 6 of their songs featured in here, while DR DOOM had only 5, but the fact that I believe split CD's should be split exactly in half is nothing more than a personal opinion. So, COLLISION hail from Holland, too, but they are from Limburg. I can't say that I was amazed by their Punk influenced Grindcore, since the two singers could definitely do a lot better than this. The one is singing like a Punk/Crossover guy and the other one... well, he is not such a good screamer. The sound is also kind of weak and the 6 compositions contained in here are not something that could make my day.
All in all, the first 'half' of this release is a really nice Death/Grind holocaust with DR DOOM punching your face with some heavy as fuck music. The other half, well, it's not that amazing if you ask me. So, you get the point. No rating here...
