This promo CD came along with a 3-pages promo sheet with the band's necessary info like weblinks, biography and stuff, as well as excerpts from reviews and stuff like that. Presenting the album and the band as the next big thing, all those excerpts made me think that I had to face a real talent, although something like that never happened...

First of all, I would like to mention that the UK based rockers have nothing to do with the Metal scene, just to avoid any misunderstandings. This is the band's debut album, and it is being released only in digital format via iTunes, Napster, Emusic, 7digital and many more digital markets. So, what exactly does this album represent?

DOWNDOG's music is a mix of Alternative Rock with some Grunge touches. Hey may remind you of bands like PEARL JAM, ALICE IN CHAINS and PIXIES, with a totally GUNS & ROSES/VELVET REVOLVER attitude. So what we have is a hard rocking act with classic modern Hard Rock compositions that make me think that if these guys were in a big label this album would be selling pretty well, not because they are the next big thing or something, but they have a modern and commercial sound that has became pretty easy listening nowadays.

I am not going to rate the album, since it is not even a Metal one, but I can say that people who are into this kind of music will definitely be more than pleased when they listen to what DOWNDOG have to say. For the rest of you, I don't think that this album will be something more than just decent.
