Doomed And Disgusting - Satan's Nightmare album cover

A wise man once said to not judge a book by its cover, but if one was looking at the sleeve of this album, which represents general laziness and unmatchable creativity, or more so it's undeniable eye hurting design, he would see how fitting it is to the content within upon listening.

DOOMED AND DISGUSTING is the brainchild of SADISTIK EXEKUTION'S bassist Dave Slave, a seemingly Black Metal vision of one man as muddled as the instrumental mix, although let's note that SADISTIK EXEKUTION is far from being a conventional band.

The intro track is the dark and minimalistic ''Chanting souls'' which serves as an introduction into the album. Some very evil guitar work backed by singular synth notes gives an impression that the album will sound very heavy and depressive but what follows for the remainder of the LP Is just an utter mess.

''Ceremonial sacrifices'' is where the start of the album truly is represented, by quite frankly lazy power chording, lacklustre drumming that may as well have come from a loop machine and vocals of such high compression and reverberation that it just never meshes right with the instrumentation provided. From this point the album is well and truly doomed. There are lead parts introduced midway that sound like someone just took a scale and descended lower and lower with it with an entirely robotic feel.

''Torture chamber'' by the time it starts seems like the sort of place I've been put into, and once again the robotic power chords make a grandiose return with the lyrics ''I hate love, and I love hate''. Lyrics so unimaginative and audaciously bad that they made me reminisce upon my beginnings as a guitar player in a high school metal band and simultaneously cringe.

Amidst all this confusion, there are moments where this over the top production works in favour when an actual groove is found in ''Murder in the Dark'' with finally some decent although not ground breaking riffery and melodic parts, but for the most part of the cd, the format of power chords, singular organ notes and more reverb than you can pack in a cave is milked dry, and leaves a slight taste of disgust in your mouth.

There will be people who will enjoy this strange mesh as much as they enjoyed SADISTIK EXEKUTION'S absolutely Extreme Death Metal oriented sound, but those people will most likely be hardcore fans of underground material, whereas I would condemn listening to it for sustained amounts of time, not so much because it's not an enjoyable album but rather because of the DISTURBED syndrome where you fall under the impression that the album is one looped track and it would be just a slight waste of time.
