Face The Wall
Disruption

I was always fond of the Swedish Death Metal style and bands like In Flames, Darkane and Soilwork are some of my favorites. However, last year all the new bands had become quite predictable in the writing of their music and often copycats of the bigger and older bands. That's why I am happy about the existence of bands like Disruption.
Five music school students in Rommeby, Sweden formed Disruption in 1999. They were initially playing Death Metal in the vein of At The Gates but now they have evolved by creating much more multi-dimensional music. They did many gigs in Sweden while they were writing music and recorded their first Demos.Face the Wall is their first full-length release, a very good attempt to start their career in music.
As I explained in the intro, Disruption is not a classical Swedish Death Metal band but is quite original. Even if they come from a country with a unique musical genre, they refuse to play the already many-times-played. They use Gothenburg's playing style as a base but they incorporate a new sound more raw than usual. The album is full of blast beats and pounding drums and they fill the gaps with even more guitars. Some more melodic parts the audience may find in Downwands but that's it. There are some Hardcore parts here and there that reminded me of the sound of Slipknot. The vocals are very aggressive and the most suitable to complete the musical background. They absolutely reminded me of Machine Head, even Sepultura in some parts and The Haunted as far as aggressiveness and power are concerned.
Disruption have released a very good piece of work and even though they are not playing something completely new, they have things to say and new elements to offer. I would absolutely recommend it to the fans of the genre and not only them...
