Does The Pain Excite You?

Blacksters should already be excited with two names mentioned in this band's line up. For the rest of you, this is Mr. Morfeus' invention to express his not so pure Black Metal feelings. Yes, we are talking about the well-known musician who is also a member of the legendary symphonic blacksters LIMBONIC ART. So what is a Black Metal musician's classic move when he forms a project? He plays Industrial of course!
The band was originally formed in 2000 in Sandefjord, Norway. As a classic Norwegian blackster, Morfeus wanted to form an Industrial project (really, why do all Black Metal musicians turn to Industrial???). Does The Pain Excite You? is not a classic Industrial album with insane melodies and irritating beats. Yes, it has its electronic parts but the music itself is a mixture of Black and Thrash Metal. The whole mixture seems to be an aggressive and kind of brutal Industrial Metal far from other bands of the genre. Even though most bands concentrate on creating majestic and epic atmosphere, DIMENSION F3H seem to prefer to be more devoted to aggression and pretty good riffs. Do not expect any RAMMSTEIN themes or Goth touches in here. In fact, I could say that this is a Black/Thrash album with an Industrial production. They sometimes reminded me of HYPOCRISY and a bit of Tagtgren's side project PAIN.
I have not heard any of the band's previous works, which by the way are not many, but as it seems the change of label - since their previous label Hammerheart was put down - and the line up changes did not affect the band at all. Their previous album Reaping The World Winds (2003) got a great feedback form the press and the fans and it seems that Does The Pain Excite You? will be equally praised.
Since I am not a great fan of this kind of music (not that it annoys me), I have to listen to a really good release, according to my taste, not to get bored. I believe that DIMENSION F3H managed not only to keep me interested for approximately 50 minutes, but they also managed to make me look forward to their next release. The problem now is that I don't know to whom I should recommend this album. Industrial fans, blacksters or thrashers? I can just say that fans of the modern sound of Metal may be attracted to this band's compositions.
