Werewolf (EP)
Devil's Whorehouse

Since Internet is in most houses and all of us have such a connection, I believe that EPs are dead. So I'm not very keen on that strategy. But sometimes there are exceptions. And here we are dealing with one. To tell you the truth, I didn't know anything about DEVIL'S WHOREHOUSE before, plus I'm glad I came across them.
Formed almost 8 years ago by ex-MARDUK's Morgan and B. War and two local musicians as a MISFITS/SAMHAIN cover band. But this lasted for only a couple of rehearsals! They already had released a mini album called The Howling in 2000, and their debut Revelation Unorthodox in 2003. After a long break, due to different commitments by the band members, and a new lineup the band is now releasing the Werewolf EP and they are getting ready for their second studio album.
DEVIL'S WHOREHOUSE's music is based on old DANZIG, MISFITS and SAMHAIN. It's been quite a long time since I've listened to some good old horror punk with a spice of Heavy Metal and some Black Metal vides! In this EP there are only three tracks, but you will get the idea. Well-worked songs but, at the same time, they give you the idea that it was a spontaneous recording, giving you a live playing' vibe. Maelstrom's voice is quite near Glen Danzig and the whole atmosphere smells old school horror punk from miles away! And the rest of the musicians, even though they are not as well known as Morgan, are not lacking experience so all four guys seem to really enjoying what they are playing. And, in my opinion, this is what counts the most.
This is not a release that will change anything in neither the world of music nor the way that punk or Metal are going to be played from now on. But, to my ears, Werewolf is an honest release from DEVIL'S WHOREHOUSE. Don't you wait for a rating. It's only three songs here. We will all have to wait for their full-length album.
