Desecrecy - Stoic Death album cover

DESECRECY first started in 2009 with the band's first full-length record entitled "Arches of Entropy"; from this the band have been able to continue a steady pace of release from 2012's "The Doom Skeptron" and  2014's "Chasmic Transcendence". We now come to 2015's "Stoic Death"; I can honestly say that I am very interested in seeing what this record has to offer.

The start of this record shows us that the band have worked to create a record that is straight to the point, giving us a show of force that this band have a very traditional way of playing mixed with some very progressive elements. A stellar example would be "Remedies of Wolf's Bane"; the way this song moves is a very aggressive force of riffs and blasts that showcase some of the band's more technical side, although these progressive moments are more based on a style of slow riffs mixed together with a fast bass attack which blend very nicely to create a song that really hits where it needs to.

Some of these same ideas can also be found in the follow up song entitled "The Work of Anakites", which opens with a solid bass riff that trembles the speakers on my desk and opens hard with a very fascinating idea which opens the mind in a way with some very interesting moments that show us the writing process that DESECRECY have been able to put together. Having this type of style mixed in with the extremity this band is capable of presenting is astonishing.

Through the record we see a lot of weird ideas being placed within the songs that this record has to present, some of which show us that the band are using what they have to create their own brand of Death Metal that doesn't stick to a single mold. What we can see through the songs "Abolition of Mind" and "Sanguine Visions" are ideas that dabble in the Doom to the Ambient side of music adding together ideas that help stretch the songs while keeping them interesting as well as keeping the listener interested as well which really is a great thing to see.

"Stoic Death" brings together some of the most interesting songs I have listened to in a while bringing together some of the bands past ideas and some newer ones which blend together perfectly in a way that allows new fans to appreciate their progression. DESECRECY have been able to present a record that bonds songs together that keep the listener invested in what they are listening to giving a lot to fans who will be inspired by these powerful images these songs paint for the listener.
