Mass Mental Devolution

One thing must be explained to the readers: Brazil isn't a good country for its own citizens. It never was, and it seems that will never be. These world must be said that the country still has historical problems as racism, macho culture, homophobia and other social issues that aren't taken seriously for the governments. The actual imbecile is just one in a line of leaders that threw the people into the lions of the elite pit. And this fact is what boosts Brazilian extreme Metal bands in a way that turns the sound even more aggressive than some bands throughout the world. We live with constant anger and hatred. This is what the music of the quartet DESALMADO, from São Paulo, as can be heard on "Mass Mental Devolution", their latest release.
They play a mutation of Grindcore that isn't what the classical approach genre usually presents. It's nasty and fast, but not as extreme as names as NAPALM DEATH, but has the same hooking extreme aggressiveness, with use of some slower parts (as can be heard on "Hollow"), some groove and even some experimental touches. Yes, the label doesn't justify what the quartet plays, but it's full of a massive catchy energy, and a personality that is hard to find today. So be prepared for a massive Third World assault! Hugo Silva (known for his work with SURRA) is the one who created the album's sonority, because he did the mixing and mastering of the album (as well as the recordings, where Otávio Rossato gave a hand), and the sonority is abrasive and nasty, but in a way that the fans will understand exactly what they're trying to express with their music (and the tunes when chosen wisely). And the artwork of Jeca Paul for the cover is really amazing.
Be prepared, because their musical aggressiveness can tear apart your eardrums. But their value can be heard on songs as the fast and furious "Mass Mental Devolution" (with many hooks inherited from Hardcore, and what great guitar riffs), the abrasive slow tempos of "Across the Land", the aggressive energy that comes from "Praise the Lord and Kill the People" (a strong and true lyric, because here, some religious leaders justify the massacre of the poor, as long as they earn money from the government, and what screamed great vocals), some experimental elements shown on "Hollow" (the slow tempos shows that bass guitar and drums are able to unleash a massive and solid set of rhythms), the Grindcore onslaught of "My Own Enemy", the hard and strong instrumental work heard on "Your God Your Dictator", and the Thrashcore/Grindcore energy unleashed on "Esmague os Fascistas" (very good vocals once more, and the title what means "crush the fascists", because Brazilian common people is becoming full of stand the fascists that are giving support to the president due their morality). They're enough to express the massive disgust of all those who love democracy are passing through due the immoral elections on 2018.
These guys aren't kidding, because to DESALMADO, Grindcore is a way of life. And "Mass Mental Devolution" is an expression of this fact. And mandaram bem demais, camaradas!
