Metal maniacs, rejoice! I'm proud to present to you: DEMON HEAD; signed via The Sign Records, hailing from Denmark - performing Doom Metal/Hard Rock, on their 2^nd sophomore album entitled "Thunder On The Fields" (released April 7^th, 2017).

Since formation in 2012; the quintet in question have only 1 full-length album behind them "Ride The Wilderness", I'm introduced to their sophomore release entitled "Thunder On The Fields". The great thing about Rock/Metal is the freedom to amalgamate any sub-genres into one intricately designed package; DEMON HEAD fuse a hard-hitting balance of Hard Rock intrigues, and the gloomy atmosphere of Doom Metal devastation. 7 tracks, ranging at around 40:23 - the quartet deliver a solid slab of unprecedented instrumentation and musicianship equalities. "Menneskeæderen" (translating to Cannibal) opens up the record with a uniquely evident composition that stems from harmonically rhythmic grooves between chorus and verses, to a well executed vocalization arrangement that all round have a 70s psychedelic attitude to it and a multitude of interesting implementations built in.

Consisting of vocalist Ferreira Larsen, the frontman consistently provides an admirable vocal range that has a psychedelic juxtaposition to it. "We Are Burning" showcases complex dexterity from guitarists Gjerluff Nielson & Gjerlufsen Nielsen, as the duo efficiently contributes a fine song writing process that's original and memorable. The titular track "Thunder On The Fields" has an overarching eminence; reaching into the distance as the menacing powerhouse Jeppe Wittus on drums crushes his set with adroit dominance. "Older Now" resurrects a grim boogie, demonstrating a steady foundation of constructive bass executions from Fuglsang - as he strums with an organic substance of groovy elements in mind. "Hic Svnt Dracones" has more primitive motifs, dynamically darkened patterns of occult-riddled overtones and chaotically daunting storytelling of ghoulish dread.

"Gallows Omen" features more of the aforementioned in a classy yet unprecedented fashion, stumbling across more diverse fretwork which varies with differentiate harmonic melodies & unique characteristics that's all round commendable and delightful on the soul - midway through the song showcases an upbeat tempo of relentless speediness that certainly got me going. Concluding "Thunder On The Fields" with the 9:20 track "Untune The Sky", we have a slowed down geometric finale with breaks all chimed and lofty - swirling guitar arrangements and a direct vocal establishment that's particular and unique. The band tend to keep a dream of keeping the old 70s avant-garde alive and DEMON HEAD thrive on this as a crucial technicality, this shows that Rock isn't dead - or metal, and I applaud the band for broadening their attempts at resurrecting the formula in a modernized development.
