The realm of Metal is no small melting pot for an eclectic, to say the least, range of bands and styles. Thus I'm brought to an up-and-coming Dutch band, DEHUMANIZATION, who purveys a perverted and delectably disgusting belch of Slam Death; a marked break from the technical and melodic Death Metal I'm more used to. Allowing your ears to access such an obscene expression of music requires persistence and an open mind, but in many cases, like this, it is well worth your time.

"Meat Exposition" began and ended exactly as I thought it would; hard, fast and unforgiving. Gone are the melodies, hooks and guitar solos; instead, we are presented with a thick, megaton wall of sound that pounds its way through our eardrums. "Necrophilic Mass Desecration" is a mass of drowning riffs that are almost hypnotic, clouding one's brain in sludge, before royally burning it in acid with a slaying onslaught of heavy riffs.

Easily my favorite track because of the hilarious name alone, "Give Birth to my Fist" contains surprisingly, precisely-executed riffs with a much more meaningful arrangement, with gravitational breakdowns providing a stellar-mass anchor weight. In all seriousness, "Crowbar Violation" trumps in terms of musicality; a little more in the vein of the Death Metal I'm used to, but with an equally strong presence of vitriol-laden slam groove.

I am a firm believer in the fact that there is music out there for everyone. Not my cup of tea/blood, perhaps totally inaccessible to newcomers, but I damn well enjoyed the ride, and so will others who are fans of the more ridiculousness realms of extreme Metal. Be prepared for an onslaught of Gore. That area of Death Metal has been booming for years, with a wide-spanning and enthusiastic underground, who I'm sure will be hungry for this band.
