Still fairly nascent, having been formed in the Swedish Bay Area in 2015, DEFIATORY is already one hell of a force of nature. Take the members' rap sheets for example: BLOATED, KNIFE IN CHRIST, AEON, and APATHY to name just some of the projects they've associated with. After making their debut at the 10^th anniversary of the illustrious House of Metal festival in Sweden, DEFIATORY made an admirable name for themselves. Hell, they've even got a beer to their name! IRON MAIDEN didn't get a beer line until 2013; 38 years into their career! Hades Rising is DEFIATORY's sophomore album.

And Hades has quite the song to introduce him. "In Hell" storms in, towering ten feet tall and ready to fuck your shit straight to the underworld. After that refreshing start to get us going, "Dance of the Dead" asks if it may have this next dance with you. Say yes and prepare yourself for a fast-paced reel that drags you off your feet and leaves you scraped and bruised after. Admitted, it's less of a dance, and more of a vicious circle pit.

DEFIATORY channels a lot of rage and bloodlust with howling lead guitars spewing unruly frets set to downtuned bass. Lead vocalist Patrik Wall is all for unclean vocals that aren't too operatic or too inhumanly guttural. With a penchant for destructive impulses, DEFIATORY seems to favor a more calculated approach to their havoc. Some favorites include "King In Yellow", "Stronger Than God", the nihilistic "Death Takes Us All", the ball-out chorus-of-the-damned in "Bane of Creation", "All that Remains", and let's not leave out the absolute dizzying "Metatron". DEFIATORY is a bone-crushing act to be reckoned with and will be more than happy to grind any dissidents into a paste. Seriously, I wouldn't fuck with DEFIATORY, and neither should you.
