Hmmm, when I first saw the cover artwork and the Argonauts title I thought that I had to do with one more ISIS clone, but the Shiver Records logo immediately made me calm down. Let's see what the Belgian label has in store for us this time.

DEDICTED is a Belgian (what a surprise!) band that was formed back in 1999. After two demo CD's, one in 2002 and one in 2006, the band managed to sign with Shiver Records for the release of its first ever full-length work. I unfortunately haven't had the chance to listen to any of their demos, but I guess this is the first time that Shiver surprises me.

This time it is not about a Belgian brutal Death Metal or Grindcore band. DEDICTED are playing this modern Death/Thrash Metal style enriched with groove and melodic lines that punch you down. Imagine a mix between TEXTURES and MESHUGGAH with some Hardcore touches and you have a slight idea of what you are going to face. Non standard tempo, grinding guitar work and a solid as a rock rhythm section are only some of the ingredients that make DEDICTED a band that shows great potential about the future. The effort that has been put on the vocals is also really good since the combination of brutal and clean ones is adding some extra catchiness to the songs.

DEDICTED get the chance to release their debut album and Shiver has a band that makes it become more known to the modern Metal scene. Seems like a fair deal to me. Check them out and you won't regret it. Let me also add that they played at the famous Graspop Metal Meeting and that their vocalist has performed guest vocals at the latest ABORTED album. Cool, huh?
