I will get to the point really quickly here! Debauchery kick ass and definitely rule through their full of gore and maggots Torture Pit. If you'd try to compare the musical style of this album to anything else in Metal, you could definitely say that it is in the likes of Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower and many other bands.
Musically, the rhythm and lead guitar work mostly refer to bands like Six Feet Under and head master of the vomitory school of Death Metal Mr. Chris Barnes must feel very proud of his German students. It is also obvious for the record company Black Attakk, that it mainly wants to turn its attention towards the American Death Metal sound. What you are about to listen to here is totally fucking cool Heavy/Death Metal with a nice, tight production and the alteration of slow and fast parts almost in every song.
There are many terrifying fast and slow riffs, accompanied by fierce drumming and a Chris Barnes type of vocals which create the Debauchery musical palette. The entire song structures strongly remind you of Six Feet Under quite intensely, but this is not necessarily negative and does not mean that these guys lack of musical identity. There are some Black Metal songs such as In Cult Of Gore for instance which lengthen the listener's interest and make Debauchery sound like an evil Black Metal band. The addition of several really melodic and extremely well played guitar leads by Primal Fear's guitarist Tom Naumann adds many extra points to this bloody butchery compilation of minced meat Death Metal music.
These guys prove that they have a fine sense of humor too, since this album contains an acoustic version of Blood For The Blood God, very cleverly called Pussy Version since it contains no distorted guitars - just acoustic ones - and the Death Metal vocals of course! It is such a nice idea for your fiance, isn't it? To listen to when you think that your relationship's going through shit! It is almost certain that you shall enjoy this intense album throughout its total playing time of 53 minutes and 33 seconds.
If you are so impatient that you can't wait for the next Six Feet Under album or if you're generally into desecration and internal septicemia then Debauchery along with their Torture Pit will satisfy your real needs with Death Metal bloody style!
