DEATHVALVES is a band that made me smile before even listening to this album. This band is from my hometown, Karditsa, a small city located in the middle of the Greek map, a city that never had something to offer to the Metal scene. I love this town and everything that has to do with it, so the publishing director didn't even have second thoughts on who would review this band's album.

DEATHVALVES is a band that never released a demo CD or something like that. They were formed in November 2006 and they decided to release their debut album right away. This is definitely a strange way for a band to start its career, especially when its members don't have any previous experiences.

Their self-financed debut album is not what I would expect from a band. Their style is something between Hard Rock & Heavy Metal (call me THE ALMIGHTY) with some slight Stoner touches. After a really tiring and meaningless intro, the first song (D.F.H.) kicks in with a really heavy and groovy riff. At first, I thought that the whole album would be like that, but unfortunately, the band disappointed me completely. Sydrome's vocals need a lot of hard work, the tracks are monotonous and the sound is crappy. You can even find some mistakes while listening to the album!

These guys need to work really hard in order to create some at least decent. This album is definitely not a professional piece of work from a band that wants to achieve something. If it was an album from some guys that just want to have fun, I could understand why the quality is so low. The only thing I can do is wish DEATHVALVES luck and wait for their next step (which I hope will be much better).
