Too Hot To Burn

Thrash 'till the death! Germany's DEATHFIST spit hellish fire with this new album of theirs, their first full one actually, and if you like old-school Thrash Metal with a raw sound and evil-ized vocals "Too Hot To Burn" should surely be noted in your near future shopping list. It seems that the "Demons" EP one year earlier was just an appetizer (with all of those songs again present in the new LP).
"Too Hot To Burn" is an album stinking 80s Thrash Metal from beginning to end. Influence comes from both major schools, with the production and vocals looking at the European/German side and enough of the guitars work and maniacal tempos equally flirting with the 'ugly' American philosophy. This is just a draft thesis in order to let you get the general picture, 'cause DEATHFIST blends these sounds so efficiently - without offering something ultra technical and sophisticated of course - that's hard to even imagine the origin of this 4-piece band. Hence, the music finally succeeds in capturing the spirit of this beloved genre to a delightful extent.
In around 40 minutes of running time you'll profoundly feel the darkness and vice of DEATHFIST in an optimal direction. The female roaring vocals remind a lot of the classic Schmier or Sabina Classen style and the guitars show enough consistency, though being a little bit repetitive throughout the whole album. Add the nostalgic value brought by such pieces of music and the stamp of approval is just a click away. Not to forget, the rhythm section pounds hard contributing the most to the album's banging mania.
There's not much more to be said here; "Too Hot To Burn" is a cruel nice 'rogue' Thrash Metal album showing DEATHFIST's will to tear you apart at first sight. Fans of 'unpolished' bands like early DESTRUCTION/SLAYER, filthy KREATOR, EXUMER, MORTAL SIN, HOLY MOSES, (some of) HIRAX or (just recently) SUICIDAL ANGELS and such 'tender' stuff. It's good but no shining diamond. The other way round, again, it's not a killer but it definitely is worth your money (receiving release both on CD and LP).
P.S.: "Booze Brigade" kicks major Metal ass!
