DeathCollector - Times Up album cover

Newcomers to the scene, DEATHCOLLECTOR, are one of the most eagerly anticipated and exciting prospects of the UK underground. Armed with the boisterous gutturals of Kieran Scott (ASHEN CROWN, GRIMORTE) at the helm, and loaded with the bruising talents of seasoned musicians Andy Whale (DARKENED, ex-BOLT THROWER, ex-MEMORIAM), Mick Carey (ZEALOT CULT) and Lee Cummings (SEVERE LACERATIONS), DEATHCOLLECTOR are guaranteed to deliver unrivalled levels of brutality in their sound. The band have created a blistering three-track debut EP, "Times Up", a succinct but potent taste of their sonic heavy artillery and undiluted sense of uncompromising death metal.

As intros go, "DeathCollector" is a mighty body-blow of a track to open the band's debut on. It's an audially suffocating noxious fog that grips tightly, the insidious gutturals bellow through a gradually bone-shattering piece that grinds with its subtle, but abyssally deep, melodic minor groove. Intermittent blast beats and double-kicks underpin a powerful minor riff that backbones lurking malevolence throughout the track, with a bass line chock-full of pernicious creep. And if that doesn't whet your appetite, "Internal Expansion" will intoxicate you with its more rampant output, the rhythm section collectively producing an uncompromising glut of eardrum bursting barbarity, resulting in a full-on onslaught of brutal battery. The final cut, the pièce de resistance of "Time's Up", comes in the form of the writhing wretchedness of "Terrorizer". Simple, yet aggressive riffs, lay the foundation for antagonistic brilliance in an OBITUARY meets BOLT THROWER hybrid. The temporal switches, abyssally deep growls and, frankly, a bass line filthier than your incontinent nan's bath water, all grip, with an especially mucky bit of chord progression and a blistering solo midway to keep you on your toes.

Our time with DEATHCOLLECTOR is short, but sweet. In the mere twelve-minutes of "Time's Up", the deathly tale is an epic one, citing that the fragility of life, irrelevant of how you fight against your struggles and fate, fuels this succinct collection of the profound, and when your "Times Up", you're done. DEATHCOLLECTOR have created a three-track masterpiece of masterfully constructed death metal at its flawless finest. The EP is available for pre-order now and will be released on 4th March 2022. This is a debut you don't want to miss!
