Opus De Tyranis
Death Tyrant

Black / Death Metal bands always have the best blend of musical ideas. Note, ideas are one thing, execution is another. With proper execution, the marriage of such complementary ideas come together blissfully and produces truly exemplary music. DEATH TYRANT with their new release "Opus De Tyranis" brings talented musicians together and couple that with quality production and dash it with an uplifting, refreshing dose of good old kickass metal music.
The first track was brilliant in taking traditional musical influences and turning into straight up hardcore music. The atmosphere induced was fantastical. This great audio experience ricocheted and burst into full-fledged double-bass madness with the verse, with the chorus punctuated and accented with vocalist Daniel Bornstrand's archetypal (in a good way) Black Metal voice. The guitarists really shine on this album, with lead guitars pulling out some great lead work and engaging harmonies. The rhythm guitar slashes through the grooves of the songs and bring the Death to Black / Death Metal. The bass guitar isn't very prominent, but with a few parts here and there, simple slides or riffs do a lot to add to the full package of the music.
Not to be outshone, drummer Joakin Antonsson blasts out some quality beats that are both brutal yet relevant to the style and feel of each song. At this point, I realise that I'm brimming with praise for this new album, and the primary reason for that has to be the band's determination to make sure each song is different, precise, and full. The song "Ixion - The Fallen Kings Of The Laphits" has so many brilliant parts to it that carry through with such sophistication that I am convinced that every single person in DEATH TYRANT must suffer from some strange chronic perfectionism. I have run out of adjectives, verbs, and adverbs to describe the album. Because that's what the album and band are: descriptive. Their music is descriptive, their style is layered intricately, and their execution is only properly understood when coupled with a million other flattering adverbs.
I guess I should skip all the painful explanations and spare the band from an ego-inflating session and just get to the main point, which is: I enjoyed this album very much. It is very good. Thank you and keep rocking.
