Death Fetishist - Clandestine Sacrament album cover

Active since 2003, Debemur Morti Productions have proved to the world that they are a label that no one should underestimate; especially when we're talking about the Black Metal genre. Releasing a ton of record since the formation, the label that is so specialized in this genre has once again proven, back in 2016, that they can and do to pick up some seriously underrated bands that deserve more recognition; and this was the same situation with DEATH FETISHIST.

This band has released two EPs in the same year as their debut full-length. The EP's were "Whorifice", released in February, "Lucifer Descending" the same month, and after altogether 3 songs on the two EP's, the band decided to lay things to rest for more than half a year to gather up some serious, label-worthy material before releasing "Clandestine Sacrament" via the label on October 28th; which proves once again that this album was overlooked due to its late 2016 release.

Still, this is an album of 8 brutally malicious and suicide-powered songs that are recommended for fans of Black Metal that is true to its original forms, but has no limits when it comes to the experimental side; and I'm talking about some wild avant-garde influences that dive into from time to time, making this release a raw, yet pretty atmospheric record.

"The Gifted Medium" for example starts right off with thunderstorms, chanting and noisy sounds in the intro. A band that will definitely please any fan of PANZERGOD or ÆVANGELIST, and in the intro you can also hear some really creepy voices of a woman talking about the underworld and the netherworld with a deep and scary voice, and definitely not sounding human. "Astral Darkness" is the song you've all been waiting for! This is the song that best describes how this band sounds; so trust me, this is something you absolutely need to hear. As I mentioned previously, the overall atmosphere is incredibly atmospheric, the vocals are in the background, remaining raw, but the sound can go fully experimental from time to time, making this release a beautiful combo of avant-garde, raw, and atmospheric Black Metal. I fully enjoyed the record. Will you?
