From The Land Of Forgotten Graves - DEMO

Though Turkey is a neighboring country I can't really say that I have received many releases from their local scene in the past. I know generally that they have a strong underground extreme Metal scene and that - at least - the releases I have received were in their majority good pieces of work. Come on guys, send us more stuff! We like you!
Dead Wish is a Turkish act, actually a one man project, experimenting in the field of atmospheric Doom Metal. From The Land Of The Graves is their (his) first attempt to display their ideas in public. The short duration of the demo (roughly over eleven minutes) and the fact that these are instrumental pieces of work (no vocals in there) doesn't exactly give me the ability to express a 100% solid opinion about this release.
Dead Wish owes a lot to acts like My Dying Bride. The band's sound is mostly dramatic, with a lot of acoustic guitars (adding some color to the outcome) but no outbursts in there? The tone is kept in very low profile all the time. I wonder if he can add a really good vocalist on top of this. Whoever decides to take the spot must posses a very good voice. I didn't heard any solos either. Its sort duration worked in favor this time. However, he must expand his musical horizon a lot if he ever decides to release a full-length album.
In conclusion, From The Land Of Forgotten Graves is an interesting introduction for the band. I mostly see it as a musical proposition of the ideas the band offers rather than a complete demo. I'm interested in listening a more complete piece of work from him (or them) in the future.
