Dead Dark Slide is back with their latest EP titled "I Am Dead". Compiled of five singles that will melt your face with their new unique brand of industrial and gothic rock. Dead Dark Slide's latest EP offering is exactly what you expect. There are shredding guitars and grating, growling vocals. Yet there is a very catchy, modern, electronic sound to "I Am Dead" that one may not typically expect from a Gothic Rock band. The driving drumbeats keep the album plugging forward, while the keyboards add a melodic element over the otherwise dark, grating sound of the new EP.

"I Am Dead" covers the topics that one would expect in their lyrics. The themes include blood, gore, and death. Discussions of people bleeding out, and drowning in seas of blackness are some of the lyrical topics covered. Dark Dead Slide points out that there is a darker side to life. People will disappoint you, and there will be dark, hard times in life that make you feel like you are drowning in sorrow. It will feel like the physical pain of bleeding or suffering, yet much of the pain spoken of on this EP is as much emotional as it is physical.

Overall this EP sounds a lot like past materials released by Dark Dead Slide. The familiar dark, grating sound will be familiar to fans that have followed the band's past releases. While the EP is nothing new for Dark Dead Slide, it's another good solid contribution of dark, heavy Gothic rock and metal music. The cover art is also similar to those in the past. The art fits in well with the content on this EP. The cover is of two dark mimes of death, which are representative of the victims of the deep, dark feelings that the EP conveys.<
