DAWN OF TEARS is a Melodic Death Metal band haling from Madrid, Spain, formed in 1999. They released their debut album "Descent" in 2007 and then in 2009 EP "Dark Chamber Litanies". Signed to the Finnish Inverse Records, DAWN OF TEARS are about to issue their second album "Act III: The Dying Eve" will be released on 31^st October 2013.

"Present of Guilt" was my first favorite song, putting up an intro with keyboards featuring a few electronic attributes. It turned up to be one of the band's softer offerings, yet quite melodic along with J. Alonso's growls, following a few rhythmic diversities. "The 7th Seal" is a heavier contender, mesmerizing like an old CHILDREN OF BODOM or CRADLE OF FILTH with intense riffing and a tight drum and bass. "Oceans" elevated my interest. It shares gentle acoustic guitaring melding with a playing of a flute including symphonic echoes. "A Cursed Heritage" represented a great opener, crushing with Death Metal riffery, inhaling melodic licks and punching drumming. There is also a guest female vocals as a small addition that provided a little flavor to the track. "Silent As Shades Are" features a minor vocal duet, I was impressed by the intertwining of the keyboards with the heavy riffing.

Other worth your time: "Lament of Madeleine" a speedster with foreboding riffs, "Prize Denied" with a dynamic tempo & keys cradling a symphonic style, "The Darkest Secret" that felt a bit militarized along with the heavy duty of "Angel Gone".

"Act III: The Dying Eve" is a highly recommended experience for any Metalhead out there. DAWN OF TEARS added that much bit of symphonic elements in order to enrich their music. The album's engineering was well made, providing modern rudiments that served as fine supplements. Certainly an album to come back to.
