Darkane - Insanity (Reissue) album cover

"Insanity" is the perfect way to describe this album, these guys were really crazy when they did this, but that kind of crazy that is way better than the normal?, that's this album, something that drives you out of your world, showing talent and improvement for the days it came out.

Since the first track, the orchestral intro moves you to another dimension, and this track was truly amazing, these cellos and violins comes perfect with the guitars and percussion, the perfect opening for what comes next, the characteristically Gothenburg sound, fast, catchy and headbanging, always keeping the melody.

The guitars show the great talent of their players, keeping good structures in the songs, track by track, really a pleasure to hear. The percussion section is very strong, the make a good use of the tempo changes, without making it annoying or saturated, the vocals here are standard, sound very good, but nothing strange or weird to highlight about.

DARKANE are part of the kind of bands that nowadays makes good music without trying to fit in the American music market, or change their style to "evolve" their sound, true to their roots, but always improving, not always having succeed, but not 'cause of that letting their music to what you could call "modern sound".
