Schauder

Dagdrøm

Wow, what great Black Metal release from thie beginner!
July 1, 2025

The German Black Metal scene is still hidden in the underground, with few bands of the genre being widely known out of the country. Bur it doesn’t mean that the German Black Metal scene has no name to show, but’s the opposite: it’s hard to heard a band of the country doing something on Black Metal that isn’t, at least, promising. And DAGDRØM shows on “Schauder”. Nikita Kamprad (who worked on the mixing and mastering) The sonority was worked in a way to bring the band to an aggressive and sharp approach, but even keeping some lo-fi elements, it sounds defined and heavy, allowing those who hear to “Schaunder” to have a great experience on it.

The band’s members are all experienced musicians, with names as AGATHODAIMON, CRAVENHALL, THE MORGROTUSKTHULULUSTOCCULTOBSKULLTY HORRORMANCE and others on their curriculums, then they know how to create very good music, filled with elements from traditional Heavy Metal (as the sad and darkened melodies) and even from Black/Thrash Metal (as some riffing heard on “Ascheregen”), and other features. It’s different from the approach usual for German Black Metal School, but’s truly excellent. When dealing “Ascheregen”, “Purpurne Stadt”, “Tagtraum”, “Alle Worte”, “Atme”, “Flüsse”, “Freund”, “Ära”, and “Kalte Fliesen”, one will be sure that the trio’s approach on Black Metal isn’t as puritan as expected, and it’s the band’s best feature, because guitars, bass guitar and drums creates very good sets of instrumental sheathes for the vocals to be laid. And truly great!

Be welcome, DAGDRØM, and even with “Schauder” being a great release, it’s clear that much more can be expected from you! And be welcome Stefan (bass) and Julian Roos (guitars) as well (it seems that they entered the band after the recordings).
