Italian duo DAEMONIAC continued the trend of an album every two years with the release of Dwellers of Apocalypse in 2019, following the release of Spawn of the Fallen and the EP Lord of Immolation in 2017 and 2015 respectively. Since releasing this album, they have introduced new band members Ulf Johan Sigfridsson on the guitars, Johan runs the Macabro Bunker Recording Studio in Milan. Albe also joined the band in 2020 as Bass player. Therefore, the band has doubled in amount, but neither were involved with this album, as far as we are aware.

"Rebellion" kicks in straight away. The Thrash elements of Death Metal clear to hear from the instrumentalists. The melody slows down slightly in places once the vocals hit. The vocals are so low and coarse that I have no idea what is being said. The melody remains solid though and it is very catchy. The tempo and pace remain high after the initial lower point. It is a solid start to the album. The vocals remain somewhat behind the instrumental sides, so the lack of clarity vocally, does not dampen the song in anyway, it enhances it. Good start.

"Council of Evil" continues the same feel from "Rebellion", this includes the high level of pace. Again, it is not the fastest, but they work it so well that you do not care. The vocal speed has increased, which matches the instrumental melody more. The vocals are not as low as before, but I still have no idea on what is being said. The only issue I would say is there is no real changes, it could have gone in several directions, but if it is not broke, do not fix it.

"Dwellers of Apocalypse" returns to starting like "Rebellion" did. The melody is far more frantic and frenzied, which is a good thing as far as overall album is pace goes. After the minute mark is hit, the pace goes once more into a slower, Doom or Sludge like pace, but the melody is still awesome. The pace picks up in stages, which adds depth and volume to the song. The control over melodies to slow and speed things up and not lose any harmonic prowess is a true gift that DAEMONIAC have and they are happy to share with us.

"Human Relic" starts with the similar emphasis that most songs so far on the album have. You can already predict it will slow down, speed up and repeat the pattern. The trick is what to do with the pattern. The melody is decent as ever, a few cleaner cut guitar riffs added in does more than you may expect to allow a new sound. Well played. The bell sample is slotted in perfectly and adds new sound and feeling to the album, which is a good trick to pull midway through any album

"The Beginning of Chaos" starts with a crying baby sample, which is different to the others. It doesn't really go anywhere, but it is a short enough sample to break the sound from one track to another and we can appreciate it. The instrumental build up is progressing harmonically. The vocals kick in eventually, which allows the instrumentalists to kick into gear once more. The melody may have moved away from its progressive start, but it is still composed and different in certain ways to what we have heard so far, speed is key.

"Disciples of the Black Arts" continues from "The Beginning of Chaos" where it left its peak speed. You may not hear many differences in places, however, I feel that the vocal aggression has picked up once more, there is no progressive sound. The pace does slow down a little on the song, which does keep the tone of the album up, but if you're like me, you want them to do something different with the pace.

"The Last Call" starts with another sample; only difference is this one seems to set up the introduction of the melody. The melody is slower than most before it, but is controlled well enough to enjoy it. The slower approach remains through most of the song, until the final third where it picks back up slightly, maybe could have gone into a higher pace, but it remains loyal to the pace set thus far in the album, nothing new as far as sound goes

"Legions of Death" falls into the same pattern as vast majority of the song; it starts slow, then speeds up, and repeat until finish. The melodies are decent enough to enjoy and appreciate the instrumental aspects along with the low growls of the  vocals, but once you've got this far in the album, it is similar to all what you have heard this far. Every song on the album is good, but may become repetitive, so if these song are mixed into your playlists, you will enjoy them more, maybe. Solid album through
