Directly from Vancouver a one-man band formed by Brendan Campbell arrives at his second full-length-album entitled "Yawning Expanse Yearning" carrying the experimental genres Death and Black Metal in a blended fashion. In his new release Campbell of the form his music in a creativity's way creating several layers of musicality within the same track, having the listeners a good experience throughout the work. The release independently demonstrates courage and will, but on the other hand, the mix owes a little with the vocal too low at some moments, the good cavernous voice could be better explored during its eight tracks and more than thirty minutes long.

The album starts with "Effulgent Regirth" which starts at slow pace and grows as it progresses, gaining ferocity with every note, although it is a complete track it also works as a specie of intro for the song that comes right next up "Globular Forms Emanating 'twixt the Lips of Space" which is where Brendan demonstrate all his quality as music,  this exceptional music has a diversity of rhythms and feelings, walking between calm and brutality on several occasions while still being awesome in every second of its nearly eight minutes long.

"Urgic" works in a more traditional way with its long blast beats being followed by more melodic guitar riffs the music also brings a strong presence of the black metal genre. "A Reverberant Groan Probing the Corners of the Cosmos" goes deep in the guts with it heavy riffs this short track allow us to bang our head while its volume is going lower till a triumph beast return.  "A Glistening Apeture & a Frothing Maw" is another good song, the synergy between black and death metal vocals works very well here, sometimes the black one working like whispering, sometimes like desperate screaming, this game makes the repetition too long of the rhythm go unnoticed. To finish this excellent work, we have "Phantom Spore" a song of slow and deep cadence that synthetize part of all the repertory of Campbell that walking between melancholy and brutality.
