Jungle Revolution
Cruzh
Hailing from Sweden, Cruzh was conceived when former TrashQueen members Anton Joensson and Dennis Butabi Borg united with Tony Andersson, known for his work on an unreleased TrashQueen record. Cruzh made waves in March 2013 with their online debut, sparking intrigue with the unveiling of "In a Blink of an Eye." The subsequent release of "Stay" and cryptic social media clues further fuelled speculation. The fall of 2013 marked their unmasking, coinciding with the acclaimed "Hard To Get" EP. Cruzh's journey reached new heights in 2015 when Frontiers Music embraced them. ”Jungle Revolution” is the second album with Alex Waghorn on vocals with also another addition of a second guitar player Johan Oberg allowing the band to drift towards a tougher more riff driven direction but also maintaining that love for big choruses and catchy hooks.
“Jungle Revolution” the title track starts off this album a great track with a catchy chorus, which showcases that new dynamics adding a second guitarist which has a sound very much like Def Leppard with the melody and those vocal harmonies in the chorus. ”Angel Dust” is a much heavier track more sleazy, gives more attitude, gang backing vocals and cries out to be played loud the guitar solos are superb.”FL89” the first single is a very catchy affair with that modern melodic rock sound which takes you on a nostalgic trip back in time great chorus and melody just ear worm perfection! ”Killing In The Name Of Love” has some nice synth touches, a great example of a killer melodic/AOR , its got a great heartfelt chorus ,a very well delivered track great production very polished , a definite album highlight for me,”SkullCruzher” is another example of this a well executed track definite influence from the eighties sound captured perfectly reminiscent of Danger Danger ,Firehouse and Winger. “At The Radio Station” has got that chorus that just is so catchy that it sticks inside your head! A glam metal party anthem.
”Split Personality” has a faster tempo, heavier riffs ,great backing vocals with attitude, with Alex Waghorn showing his superb vocal range. ”Sold Your Soul” has a very groovy and catchy melody, some great riff hooks and runs. ”From Above” is a heartfelt AOR style ballad some great piano melodies with some great emotional vocals with sincerity, a beautifully written ballad which I can honestly say gave me goosebumps ,a powerful ending makes this song soar as do Alex Waghorn's excellent vocals but at the end brought back down to end the song beautifully another album highlight. ”Winner” sends out a powerful message in the lyrics another great track, melodic rock gold and another album highlight, ”Gimme Anarchy” is the last track on the album I feel the heaviest track on the album very glam metal and sleaze the riffs and melodies give me early Poison Vibes which is meant as a huge compliment ,a superb finish to this album.
What a great album “Jungle Revolution” is. Cruzh has made a perfect balance on this album there's some great glam/sleaze metal tracks and also some fantastic melodic/AOR tracks. Having two guitarists has made the band sound a lot more stronger with some amazing vocals backed by some superb bass and drums which make the band complete package, with some amazing production. All the tracks are killer, definitely no filler tracks here that's for sure, This is another album to add to my CD collection, which without question will be up there as one of my favourite albums of the year.
