The Midnight Chase

Hailing from the Great land of Sweden CRUCIFIED BARBARA's sound can probably be best described as a cross between Punk, Rock 'N' Roll and Heavy Metal; they've got that badass mixture of Punk attitude and the simplicity of Rock 'N' Roll all embedded with the spirit of Heavy Metal. If one were to draw comparisons between bands the logical comparison would be, of course, the great MOTORHEAD. The Barbs managed to pull off that Heavy Metal Rock made famous by Lemmy and his posse without sacrificing their own individuality. Formed in 1998 this Swedish quartet has released two full-length albums: "In Distortion We Trust" (in 2005) and "'Til Death Do us Party" (in 2009) and now in 2012 they have released their third album: "The Midnight Chase".
This is a great album by Rock N Roll standards, the songs are catchy, full of simple, but powerful riffs and amazing solos performed by the amazing guitarist Mia Coldheart who has also a great raspy voice fitting for the aggressive potency of the songs. All songs from top to bottom are great, although they tend to be a just a bit repetitive and sometimes it feels like it is overly simple. Special mention I should make to the song "Count Me In" a ballad that helps break the monotonyof the flow of the album.
All in all this is a great fun album and a great introduction to this band and, having just bought the tickets for their show here in Porto Alegre, I can hardly wait for their show in the 18th.
