Crionics - Armageddon's Evolution album cover

Armageddon's Evolution is the second album from this band coming from Poland. They were formed in January 1997 and their first demo came out in 1998. After certain lineup changes they released their second demo, Beyond The Blazing Horizon (1999), which was also released by Demonic Records  as a mini LP in 2000.
In 2002 their first album came out, containing some songs from their last demo which was named Human Error: Ways To Self Destruction. Crionics did a lot of live performances and they had a promotional tour along with Behemoth. They have also taken part in Metalmania festival, in Katowice (March 2003), HellFest and Metal Inferno Fest in 2003. Their influences are Emperor, Limbonic Art and some riffs remind me a lot of Behemoth. On the whole their CD sounds like an unreleased album of Emperor. Their voices, keys, riffs do their best to sound just like the Norwegians. They've also done a cover of The Loss And Curse Of Reverence.
They have a lot of good riffs and ideas but they are lost in a mess of mediocrity. There are many things inside every song and in the end you get bored and all the good ideas get erased from your memory. I also have a problem with the keys. Sometimes they play some good parts but overall they need some improvement. There's an attempt to create a certain atmosphere but I think the whole approach lacks of something.
I believe that their music - for the style of Black Metal they play, which many may call it majestic - is above average quality. So if you are the kind of person who can't live without Emperor's albums, check them out!
