Here comes another release from Frontiers for all the melodic Hard Rock followers. Soren Kronqvist together with Daniel Flores decided to form a project featuring guest musicians like Goran Edman (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JOHN NORUM, BRAZEN ABBOT), Mats Leven (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, INFINITE MASS), Thomas Vikstrom (CANDLEMASS) and Bjorn Jansson (RIDE THE SKY, TEARS OF ANGER). Well, this kind of ideas are coming quite usually nowadays and doesn't bring the amount of surprise anticipated by the creators. Anyhow, bringing together musicians and singers does not automatically provide the means for a successful fusion.

Fight Fire With Fire makes the start and I feel optimistic about The Crowning. The amazing keyboard melodies add a lot to the general outcome while the beautiful vocals and the professional production delivers a crystal clear sound to my ears. All Because Of You follows and starts to establish the opinion formed in my mind. Sadly, excitement did not last long. Tunes like I Still Believe In Love and Love Is In Your Eyes (would DEF LEPPARD sound like this if they were a typical boy band?) show a deviant path. Quite sweet and catchy songs, like they were destined for the beginning of a boy band. Mostly, it is the choruses that let me down. Even in the powerful intros like the one that Take A Chance has, a real bolt of energy  -thanks to the keyboard interventions again-  the chorus, in comparison with the beginning is like the whole band underwent a stroke.

CRASH THE SYSTEM is an AOR project with a quite nifty production. Unfortunately, the amount of people participating in it, taking in account their background, maybe did help for spreading the name of the project although I am not sure if the actual result will support this move. Having an album featuring good vocalists, great production is sad that is not reaching the expectations the first two songs allowed us to have. Probably, the mediocre outcome lies on the inability on perfecting promising ideas.
