Corroosion - Dirt Awareness album cover

Okay, every strict/close minded Metalhead get out of the room right now! Alright, now who's up for some earthquake inducing brutality? Who's up for some Deathcore? ... Yes, I'm serious! I know the genre is slowly dying out, and most releases are mediocre, but we can't disagree that some bands still know how to sound seriously heavy and not disappoint. CORROOSION is one of those bands for sure!

If it's one thing you should keep in mind, it's that Deathcore is not always meant to be technically brilliant, sometimes it's just meant to be brutally brilliant, and I'll admit to you, very few bands succeed in being that. "Dirt Awareness" reminds me a lot of MOLOTOV SOLUTION's latest release "Insurrection", which was one of the heaviest Deathcore releases I have ever heard in my entire life, and is arguably better than the majority of mainstream releases in this.

Vocals are heavy, deep, and slowly force you to bob your head and move around like a madman. The guitars deliver some heavy riffs, and eventually decapitate you with a mindblowing breakdown or two. Yes, expect some breakdowns and stop complaining. If you're complaining about breakdowns, then you should complain about the amount of solos in melodic Metal. It's an aspect of the genre; expect it to be there in almost every song.

The album in general is very entertaining, but it might prove to be a bit repetitive after the first half, although CORROOSION do a great job in keeping the album heavy. For all fans of MOLOTOV SOLUTION, BENEATH THE SURFACE and any heavy Deathcore band, pick up this album right now! If you want something new and refreshing, again, pick up this album right now! It's Deathcore, and it's bleeding brutality all over the stage.
