Coraxo - Starlit Flame album cover

Hailing from Finland, CORAXO is a two man band producing Electronic Death Metal on the verge of  industrial, upon us is CORAXO new and first EP "Starlit Flame".

Within the tracklist there are seven songs, which one of them is an instrumental and the last one being a cover for the famous SEPULTURA, leaving us with only five original tracks. Starting with "Signal Detected" an straight forward Death Metal riffery and drumming, alongside some electro humming that I noted as barely obvious. Generally, it's more of an ordinary Death Metal track less industrial or electric Metal, even though that there are a few Black Metal characteristics. In the contrary to "Signal Detected" the second track "Xenotaph" does have a more Industrialized feel and sound. I think that it's the best track on this EP, other than "Transpormed" that is a three minutes of electronic sound with a minutes or so of a more Death meets Doom Metal fusion.

I was hardly looking, or expecting, for this kind of contemporary combination, yet, it seems that CORAXO in their brew, has something decent going, providing Death Metal with more than it is.
