Beast Inside
Control The Storm

I was originally blown away by their flawless set at my local hotspot The Firehouse; it reminded me that the next big thing could be right on your doorstep and why it's important to support your local music scene. The act I am talking about is Melodic Metal outfit CONTROL THE STORM and to say they will turn heads in the Metal community is an understatement.
After securing a spot at Bloodstock's New Blood stage in 2012 and a debut EP in 2010, their fan base is slowly growing. They have now released their debut album "Beast Inside" and I shall tell you why this excellent feat will continue to open doors for the band.
The album flawlessly opens with "Day Of Days"; I think I speak on behalf for all fans of Melodic and Power Metal that we are absolute suckers for catchy hooks on the guitars and keyboards, "Day Of Days" demonstrates this perfectly and from that opening I knew they were underway.
One of the aspects I admired most about this album is being able to show a diverse range of tracks on their debut album; I have mentioned in my previous reviews that I am adamant in thinking that any band that shows varied sounding tracks on the first album often go on to achieve great things afterwards. From the beautiful ballad "Falling" to the dark sweeping "False Eternity" this album has something to suit everyone's pallet.
I do actually think "Beast Inside" is every Melodic Metal fan's dream; if it's combination of memorable riffs from the guitars, keyboards, the unblemished vocals from Kate Norris and the rolling drums providing the solid back bone to show they mean business don't prove this then I don't know what will.
So overall a fantastic debut album, if this doesn't secure a place in the metal community I don't what will. Be sure you don't miss them at Metal Temple Festival 2015 this Saturday at Brighton's Green Door Store. I highly recommend this for fans of NIGHTWISH, FLYLEAF and EVERGREY.
