BRAVE NEW WORLD is the new release by Sweden's CONSTANCIA which is due out Friday June 18th, the same day as the highly anticipated new HELLOWEEN. This is their third effort after the very enjoyable LOST AND GONE and FINAL CURTAIN. These Swedes are paramount performers who stand their ground. The line-up features several seasoned musicians; although Mikael is the major composer. The exceptional guitar work comes from Janne Stark who has his roots in OVERDRIVE, but he has played with so many other esteemed acts like LOCOMOTIVE BREATH, PLANET ALLIANCE, and GRAND DESIGN. In the past year alone, he has worked with CHRIS CATENA'S ROCK CITY TRIBE, MERRYWEATHER STARK, and MOUNTAIN OF POWER, among several other projects, including being a renowned author of several Anthologies Of Swedish Rock & Metal.

Janne may have suffered some serious injuries over the past few months, but as the final curtain is drawn, this little fighter has prevailed and penned the totally Metal "Titanium", and Pete has provided lucid lyrics to open your heart to overcome the fear of the dark.

When it came time for David Fremberg to pursue other projects like his REGGAE KISS PROJECT, the band decided to work with BLOOD RED SAINTS vocalist Pete Godfrey. The renewed energy of having Pete join the ranks, served to inspire the album Title, thus allowing him to re-work the songs and write all the lyrics attuned to his individual vocal style, which is a unique combination of Geoff Tate, Tony Harnell, and Jacopo Meille, currently with TYGERS OF PAN TANG. Times change, love stays, so BRAVE NEW WORLD serves as an inspiration for 2021, and a new beginning for CONSTANCIA, whose synchronistic persistence for writing memorable melodies is sustained through top-notch musical execution, and an unbreakable spirit.

The music evokes that key AOR vibe of the 80s executed with some stronger punch and vigor. Acts like ECLIPSE, LORDS OF BLACK, JADED HEART, TNT, DEF LEPPARD, & SAINTED SINNERS all come to mind when I listen to BRAVE NEW WORLD as an album, or watch their poignant lyric video for the song itself, replete with exemplary guitar licks and leads. More aggressive, yet subtly sophisticated tracks such as "Synchronistic" symbolize unification, where action not words are the key to constancy. "Forget Me Not" tests the inner drive, as if one were to walk through the fire to sharpen his steel. Then, the invincible hook of "Stronger" will bait and sate with its soaring solos. Nothing ventured, and nothing gained, and living up to their namesake; never losing site of that doggone mettle which makes one stronger, CONSTANCIA hang tough and wear their heart on their sleeve with "My Disease", for which "TrumPeter" showcases his drum dynamics, like he does on HIGHER AND HIGHER by his other band HEARTWIND.

The closing cut "Open Your Heart" is a little too commercial for my taste. However, it is certainly not a Ballad, and the gifted guitar reactions matched with the thumping pulse of Linus, blankets any suggestion of weakness. Overall, even though I have only discovered CONSTANCIA in the past year, as well as other acts for which these musicians are involved. It has been my privilege and might ease to review BRAVE NEW WORLD, and represent this name of talents to the world.
