Conspiracy - Irremediable album cover

When the first song came from the speakers in this new CONSPIRACY album my mind went straight to the first two albums of CRADLE OF FILTH and that 'plushy' era of 'Black Metal' bands. Although here in "Nocturnal Hunters" I'm afraid that things are even worse, despite the SEPTIC FLESH basic melody riff.

But let's take everything from the beginning. CONSPIRACY is something like the personal musical shape of Carpathian Wolf who was a basic MELECHESH member best known as Al Hazred. Here he presents us a disc (which is the third one; don't known anything further for the previous two) that is very close to something like a multi-face style a la NOTRE DAME. To be honest this band grated to my mind anytime I was listening to "Irremediable" but here this music is some levels down from where Snowy Shaw had left us.

During all its running time you get the feeling that the person behind tries desperately to mix a lot of different styles and gain your attention or surprise you. I don't feel that this works exactly as it should be or was expected and one main reason is that the really worth moments inside are "Nocturnal Hunters", the orchestral "Ouverture" and the lead parts in "Black Mass" or in the MELECHESH-reminding "End Of Religion". These few moments/songs are the ones that I personally found listenable or enjoyable. As for the rest?

Well, on one hand a gothic riff in "Pentagram" makes it "kitsch" and the KING DIAMOND mimics in "Irremediable" are mediocrity, pure mediocrity. Last, songs like "The Invocation Of Hecate" or "The Hag" seem to be complete fillers. Unfortunately in its ending this album becomes worse, more boring with empty riffs that if we combine them with some not so well or special vocals make it very tiring. Some other members may have brought some extra help in CONSPIRACY, perhaps in the vocals or drums (they sound a little bit not so well combined with the rest of music). For the time being...
