Destination Addiction
Confess

On the creation of Groove Thrash Metal, as it was created by PRONG on the beginning of the second half of the 80s, acts as PANTERA and SEPULTURA have a great importance on the genre. It’s obvious that after many years the formula was expanded and is filled with many different elements. And the Iranian duet (now based on Norway) CONFESS seems to be trying to expand some limits, as heard on “Destination Addiction”. Industrial Metal, Gothic Rock elements, Death Metal and other elements of different Metal genres can be heard in the musical blend they are creating, but the main outfit is based on Groove Thrash Metal, filled with creativity and able to rip the ears of those who dare to hear this album without care on the sound volume.
It’s aggressive and brutal, fueled by a caustic groove, but always very good and full of energy. Nikan Khosravi acted as producer, leaving with Alberto De Icaza the mixing and mastering of the songs. All to breed an intense and voracious sonority, aggressive and distorted, but defined in a way that everything can be fully understood without problems. And as guest, here is the Death Metal master George Kollias on the drums (what means that technique and weight aren’t a problem at all), and Marzi Montazeri appears on “After Goliath” (as Marzi plays guitars, it’s presumable that he plays guitars on it).
Caustic and intense, but fresh and young, the songs of “Destination Addiction” are filled with energy and excellent ideas, but in some ways, it seems that the best of them aren’t shown by now. But the blows given by “Built on a Grave”, “Slaughterhouse”, “Expedition”, “Dark on Both Sides”, “Suicide Song”, “Final Lap”, “After Goliath”, “Origami God”, “Only Shackles to Lose” and “Breathe In. Breathe Out” are everything that modern Thrash Metal and Groove Thrash Metal fans can ask for: insane guitar riffs, growls and screams, thunderous bass guitar and drums rhythms and tons of groove touches mixed with creative arrangements. Then dive into such maelstrom of chaos and rejoice!
CONFESS really delivers a very good work on “Destination Addiction”, so enter into it and let yourself enjoy such a ride.
