Swiss metallers COMANIAC hit the scene with their latest sophomore release titled Instruction For Destruction. An album consisting of ten songs and under fifty minutes of lively tunes that are sure to win fans of modern melodic metal instead of thrash metal to which some might describe them. Despite the modern sound they unleash with late 90's metal guitar soloing the band has some past musical reference points of inspiration of KREATOR (Gods Of Violence-2017). COMANIAC does deliver a solid sound that is not over the top or complicated or technical, which is good and not all over the place like some new acts out there these days.

Kicking into gear COMANIAC introduces some fancy guitar works that work well with melodic face punched drumming as displayed in track "Bow Low". When listening to this song I get a hint of early EXODUS with a dash of early ANTHRAX just a tad but the band owns it completely with their interesting guitar soloing to which is the albums strength. Maybe I'm wrong to say that but the guitars really shine throughout for Instruction For Destruction. There are parts of complexities that musically speak out to the listening ear with "How To End It All", which has a melodic GOJIRA vibe that can be sensed in parts of the song. Nothing to over the top but a well balanced catchy tune. Frontman guitarist Jonas Schmid blends straight forward singing with an edge that has a DISTURBED (David Draiman) vibe that is hard to shake off for the contrasts are extremely similar in range.

Leading into another melodic realm COMANIAC shows their more technical side that is not overly produced with screaming guitars and blasting drums for they put out ear pleasing melodies that can be heard with song "Heart Of Stone". Would have to say that this track is the soul of the album for it complies well versed lyrics and musical presentation. The group musically is well fitted and produces some tight knitted tunes that are radio/air friendly and delivers it well. Quality of Instruction Of Destruction is your basic melodic metal group that has potential for showing what they do can deliver the musical goods to any listener out there. Only thing that might be keeping them from showing that ballsy edge is producing a more aggressive solid sound to which I am sure they will grow into in the near future. If easy pleasing melodic metal music with a splash of smart guitar
works if your thing then check out COMANIAC!
