I was told CIRCUS OF FOOLS are a Gothic metal band, for that I was very surprised all through the first song. The album opens up with a cute melody that makes you expect nothing but a hard-core opera lady singer. As the disturbing and wonderful dirty voice of Strouken enters the scene, there's nothing more suitable for the complexion. The combination between the enchanting vocals to the hunting music makes you wish you could head-bang hard and slowly, like any good Gothic metal band should make you feel.

CIRCUS OF FOOLS are located in Germany and this is their first full-length album after only 2 years of working together. The album "Raise The Curtain" is inviting you to step into the circus of horrors with dirty, disturbing, hunting demon like music, and it's wonderful. They describe themselves as an "all live band". They promise a bombastic live show to all who dares to come.

In the third song, "Visions" a lovely female voice enters making this album even more enchanting and thanks to it, listening to the music makes you shiver down you your bones. This beautiful female vocal is just one of those things you don't know their missing until the moment they come in, that which makes it perfect. The fourth song, "Reinstate", reference an unofficial holiday known as "Guy Fawkes Night" by calling us to "remember the fifth of November". Many of you might know the famous sentence from the film "V For Vendetta" that also refer the story of this night.

The amazing mix of hauntingly beautiful keys, with the delightful sound of the viola is relaxing and disturbing in the same time. Added to that are the wonderful guitars along with the magical vocals, creating all together what must be one of the most demonic, beautiful, gothic, circus, music. Listening to this album is an experience one need to go through in order to get to that transcendent place Gothic metal takes you to. I loved it.
